Understand The Law Of The Harvest!

Understand The Law Of The Harvest!

“Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.” – Proverbs 12v11

Life has it’s natural laws. Working against any of them, can only bring misery and pain. To me, it makes perfect sense to take some time to study and understand them. The law of the harvest states:

1. You have to plough the ground;

2. Plant the seed;

3. Water the seed;

4. Reap the harvest.

The above steps look simple to me. They are not easy but simple. Simple because they are not complicated to follow, the sequence is clear. Implementing them requires discipline, focus and patience which is not easy. Remember, there are two kinds of pain in the world, the pain of discipline and that of regret. The pain of discipline happens in the moment when you do what you have to do, as difficult and painful as it is. The pain of regret weighs heavily at the end. It comes when you avoided the pain of discipline by not doing what you were supposed to do. These are the “could have beens; should have beens; wish I have known better, etc” When this happens, that’s when you know you messed up.

Don’t envy the harvest of the rich. Envy their planting. So, when it is time to sow, sow and when it is time to harvest, you will harvest. Obey this rule for your own good.                 Every day, you have the right and wrong seeds with you. One thing for sure, if you plant the wrong ones, they won’t come out positive. Plant the right seeds and water them through repetition and continue with it even though it looks like nothing is happening, in the right time, the good plant will come out. When the good things that you have planted, by following the law of the harvest, come out, you’ll hear people saying, “you are a genius; you have green fingers; you are lucky; you are a magician; etc.” It’s all about obeying and following the simple law of harvest.

Here’s something important you also need to know about this law: while there may be many things in life you wish to harvest, not every seed you plant will grow, just accept that, it’s part of the equation.

Finally, like a farmer, keep expecting and believing that your due season is coming. Declare that the good you have planted in your life will manifest. Every season has an end for a harvest to begin. Embrace the process!

An old adage in our culture clearly states that the rules of the farming field do not change= 'murairo wemumunda hauchinje'. You reap what you sow. Enjoyed reading, and feel powered up for the week. Thank you for sharing Veli Ndaba.

The problem with society today, particularly amongst the young, is almost instant gratification. Everything must be done and concluded as fast the computer would allow. Forget about the wrong seeds being planted and plants not being watered, the general expectation is one of having the fruits without even planting the seeds. One appreciates technology and the speed of information. However, if not properly understood and applied, it often has disastrous impacts. The only solution is raise our children to plant the seeds AND use the power of technology. Most importantly, let’s lose the culture of entitlement. Let’s earn what we want through hard work, diligence, patience and perseverance.
