So how do you get better at understanding the people you want to do business with?
There’s hundreds of bad examples I can choose from this week. Take this message.
They have asked for a 60-minute meeting, to discuss the meeting next week ??
If someone doesn’t know you, why would they give you 60-minutes of their time? I was not given enough notice for this meeting either.
This person offers exposure to 100,000 people. When I checked their LinkedIn profile, they have 500 followers. There’s a BIG difference between 100,000 and 500 followers. The lessons to learn from this are:
a)???? Understand how businesses operate.
b)???? Understand how busy people are and don’t ask them to do things last minute.
c)???? Get your numbers right.
d)???? Stop exaggerating. We don’t need more people bragging, we need more authenticity.
e)???? Don’t be lazy. Sales is not a quick-fix solution. It is the heart of your business and you need to get the foundations right.
f)????? BONUS: what you say and what your prospects hear you say are sometimes different. Use the right language for speaking to the right person.
