Hi Everyone,
Out walking my dog, Edith, this morning and I felt pressured to step off the path to give way to a lady walking rather briskly towards me - obviously on a mission!! Once she had stormed past, I began to question myself as to why I had given way so easily!! I was perfectly entitled to walk peacefully and I'm ex-Army, by god!!! ??
Have you ever felt pressured by a stranger or one of your peers to do something that you weren't comfortable with? Peer pressure is a common experience that everyone goes through at some point in their lives. It can be a positive force, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone and try new things. However, it can also be negative, pushing you to do things that you don't want to do or that go against your values.
So, how does peer pressure relate to life coaching? As a life coach, my job is to help people identify their goals, strengths, and weaknesses. One of the biggest challenges that my clients face is dealing with peer pressure. Whether it's pressure from friends, family, or co-workers, it can be difficult to stay true to yourself and your goals when you feel like you're being pulled in different directions.
Here are my tips for dealing with peer pressure:
1. Stay true to your values
It's important to know what you stand for and what you believe in. When you're faced with a decision that goes against your values, it's okay to say no. Your values are what make you who you are, and it's important to stand by them.
2. Set boundaries
If someone is pressuring you to do something that makes you uncomfortable, it's okay to set boundaries. Let them know that you're not comfortable with that particular situation and that you're not going to participate.
3. Surround yourself with positive influences
Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you to be your best self. This can be friends, family members, or even a life coach. Having a support system can help you stay accountable and motivated to achieve your goals.

4. Take responsibility for your decisions
Remember that you are in control of your decisions. Don't let peer pressure dictate how you live your life. Take responsibility for your decisions and make choices that align with your values and goals.
In conclusion, peer pressure is something that we all face at some point in our lives. As a life coach, I encourage my clients to stay true to themselves, set boundaries, surround themselves with positive influences, and take responsibility for their decisions. Remember, you are in control of your life, and you have the power to make choices that will lead you towards a happy and fulfilling life.
I hope you found this blog post informative and helpful. If you have any questions or want to learn more about life coaching, feel free to reach out to me. I'm always here to help!
Take care,

9 个月A suggestion, with all the games going on about Trump and changes to use of US Mil, Presidential Role expansion, other. Trump tries to do as you describe. Ask for an online joint session of US Congress, speak to them. People on the edge of doing as they were sworn in vs those who are "in line as Trump tells them to be" (Trump as the "elementary school line leader"). If enough are on the reasonable side or the edge and swayed well? Trump's games are defeated and "Lame Duck" for the rest of time in office. If not, then US Marshalls just go in for the first time ever (1st time ever needed) to us their one agency special power of arrest over a sitting President of the US. Many "1st's" with Trump. On Trump himself? A little late as his game has gone so long & so harshly. If he backs off, his "supporters" would be his concern. An amazing turn of events seems to be unfolding. Prevention is key if not in the voting booth then as it tries to evolve. Who would have ever thought, such a discussion would ever even come up in the US? Coaching is an effective means of teaching/mentoring. A question, why does Edith have a "I didn't do it, It wasn't me" type of expression? Priceless Enjoy your time together
