Some amount of stress is desirable to achieve a particular result.But when it comes to "tackling the stress positively" what ruins the game for many ? Is it not possessing the power to think clearly while under pressure when it comes to handling the stress?
So how do we go ahead?
Think of high pressure moments as a challenge.Don't think as a threat.Seeing pressure as a threat undermines self confidence.And please remember! many a times the things that you worry may not happen.When you visualize pressure as a challenge you are stimulated to give the attention and energy needed to make the best efforts.
Accept the uncertainties of life .Elements of uncertainties should actually motivate us to practice acceptance. This thinking would enable you to focus on the task and not on the outcome by taking control of the situation and being very positive in your attitude.
So decide next time you have to face a challenge whether you would like to consider that as a positively motivating challenge or a difficult barrier?...
Develop a positive frame of mind than getting unduly stressed over things that may/may not happen.
How can we develop a certain "attitude" so that pressure/stress could be harnessed positively for (only) the beneficial aspect alone? Gain from stress?
So under the gun? Don't jump but Stay the P-P-C way: Well, this could be the best mantra to succeed while under pressure:
Stay Positive (P) ,Stay in the Present (P) and Stay in Control(C)..{Stay P-P-C}.
P-P-C is also all about changing the mindset positively by focusing, relaxing and enjoying while we visualize the goal and get immersed in the process.Seeing pressure as a threat undermines self confidence and when you think otherwise you are stimulated to give the attention and energy needed to make the best effort."Get tough: Don't work under pressure; Work over pressure"
So take a deep breath, clear your mind, then only take a decision and act accordingly when you are under pressure next time.You are more likely to succeed in such a case.It is up to us to decide if stress will raise us up or beat us down.
History has several examples of successful leaders who were adept in handling the extreme pressure & stress exceedingly well by being in control of the situations.They didn't get perturbed when they were disturbed. Instead, they found innovative ways to handle such situations very well.
