So what do you tell your son when he comes home from Uni after nearly two years studying engineering and informs you that he wants to defer because he doesn’t think the career he has chosen is the right one?

What if he then tells you that he wants to invest his life savings into some new technology and an idea…?

As a dad it is hard to provide the right advice sometimes, so support and encouragement is a much easier option. 

 “Start-ups sound sexy”, but reality is something completely different. I have witnessed first hand, my son living and breathing (24 X 7) his vision to assist students with career guidance using Virtual Reality experiences. It’s a tough gig to build something from scratch and it requires large amounts of self belief, passion and determination.

I am certain there have been times when he has questioned if Work Window would succeed and if all the hard yards would provide the right outcome for the students.

The other unknown challenge was COVID and this delayed the launch of the platform and severely impacted the schools and universities who are now using it or will be in the near future.

 How do you get validation that your idea is real and you have developed a product that is needed within the student community….?

• It would also be a great idea to ask the Federal Government to tip in over half a million dollars to support the growth and development of the platform. Tick..

 The end goal is to offer as many students as possible the opportunity to explore careers in really immersive and interactive ways.

Work Window Australia Pty Ltd Work Window Virtual Reality Scaleup.

This project will establish innovative virtual reality career experiences to help students understand and succeed at work. The project will partner with industry-leading employers to create virtual job shadowing using VR. This project will aim to work with schools and universities to help them access better careers information that gives students real insight into different jobs so that they can make the right choices for their future.
