Uncovering the Invisible Truth: The WHY Behind Analytics
Michael J. Greenlee, MBA

When I was given the opportunity to discuss our Velocity platform , it caused me to reflect on the driving force behind it all. Why did I set out to transform the billing, coding, and compliance processes for home health and hospice agencies? And more importantly, how has building a team of experts allowed us to push the boundaries of what I even thought was possible? And of course, what have we built?
I'm truly humbled by the response I've received from those in the industry. I'm grateful to every single person who's been involved in any capacity. But before I get too sentimental, let me give you some "Invisible Truth" - insights into the pieces of this puzzle that seem to be making the greatest impact. Some of these may surprise you.
Streamlining the Coding and Review Process
Velocity offers a comprehensive suite of features to address the common pain points faced by home care providers when it comes to the coding and OASIS review process . One key aspect is the real-time notification system, which keeps agencies informed about the status of their charts, clinician productivity, and tracks all changes and the impact of those changes. Agencies are notified on specific days (day 2, 5, 10, and 15) if a chart remains unreconciled, allowing them to take prompt action.
To enhance transparency and accountability, the platform provides agencies with the ability to log in and view the status of their charts at any time. The system clearly indicates the reason for a chart being on hold, and agencies can easily comment on the required changes. There was a need to solve the challenges of clinical documentation so we built Velocity to track all changes, the impact of those changes, and the ability to drill down into each specific field clinician to highlight the areas where training and development are needed.?
But here's the one I believe is making the biggest impact: Velocity offers a robust quality assurance (QA) feature, enabling agencies to not only automate the QA process but also track the performance of their clinicians. Agencies can monitor the impacts of the OASIS assessment, allowing them to identify and address any training needs.
The platform's coding analysis capabilities are particularly noteworthy. By offering sophisticated AI capabilities, the coder is able to code to the highest specificity with ease, saving 6-8 minutes per chart review.
Streamlining Revenue Cycle Management (RCM)
The platform's RCM features are designed to address another critical pain point for home health agencies – the lack of visibility into their aging accounts receivable (AR). The system provides agencies with real-time tracking of their AR, indicating whether the claims have been touched by the team and the current status of each claim. #noclaimleftbehind
To automate the data transfer process, the platform utilizes bots to push data from the agency's electronic medical record (EMR) system to the platform, eliminating the need for manual data entry. This ensures that the information is updated in real-time, allowing agencies to make informed decisions based on accurate and up-to-date data.

The platform's analytics and reporting capabilities are also noteworthy. Agencies can access a variety of dashboards and reports that provide insights into their productivity, coding performance, and overall financial health. This empowers agencies to make data-driven decisions, optimize their operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Enhancing Transparency and Accountability
I often joke that I don't want to use any system that's above a 5th grade level. And I believe our team accomplished that with Velocity's intuitive workflow. One of the standout features of the platform is its user-friendly interface, which simplifies the billing and claims management process. Clinicians can easily access patient information, update details, and move claims between different statuses, such as "new," "in progress," and "waiting".
The platform's transparency and accountability features are particularly impressive. By tracking the activity of coding and review services, agencies can gain unprecedented visibility into the performance of their own team or even third-party providers. This allows agencies to make informed decisions about their partnerships and ensure that they are receiving the highest level of service.
Empowering Home Health Providers
What you can read between the lines is my passion for the industry and my desire to serve the people who work in home health, hospice, and palliative care. Overall, this innovative technology solution, called Velocity, aims to streamline the billing, coding, and review processes, ultimately benefiting both agencies and their patients. By leveraging data-driven insights and user-friendly tools, the platform empowers providers to deliver high-quality care while maintaining financial and operational efficiency.?
