Uncover exciting opportunities with new job search tools and preferences

January is often a time to rethink and reset, and that includes searching for a new job. In fact, a new LinkedIn survey finds that the majority of professionals (85%) are considering a job change in 2024, keen to expand their horizons.

That’s why today, we’re excited to share more about 3 exciting job search feature updates that will make it easy for you to discover opportunities that you might not have considered, and make your career aspirations a reality.

(1) Discover new opportunities that suit you best with ‘Job Collections’

So you’re looking for a fresh opportunity this New Year; Where do you start? With competition heating up (monthly job search intensity was up 21% in 2023 vs. 2022) Job Collections? allows you to expand your job options and explore collections of relevant jobs across a variety of industries, specialties and companies that you may not have otherwise been aware of.

To start, visit the Jobs tab on LinkedIn. Look for “Explore with Job Collections” and click on any of the collections that align with your passion and interests, including jobs that offer remote work, good parental leave, or a focus on sustainability.

Industry specific collections are available as well, ranging from food & beverage to healthcare, media, defense & space, pro sports, and more. If you’ve always worked in large enterprises but are looking for a change of pace, collections can help you discover opportunities at top startups, small businesses, or non-profits.?

The possibilities are endless—and more easily discoverable than ever before with Job Collections.?

(2) Find your ideal job faster with our new preferences page

Think of setting your job preferences as planting the seeds of your dream career. Our new Preferences page - found at the top of your Jobs tab on mobile, on the left rail on Desktop - now makes it easy for you to select and manage your preferences in one place, so that you can tend to these seeds and ensure the best possible chances for growth and an ideal job match.

And once these preferences are set, we’ll highlight them in green on every job details page to help you quickly evaluate the most fruitful opportunities.

These preferences include: employment type (full-time, part-time, contract, etc.) and location type (remote, hybrid, on-site), as well as minimum pay preference for US members. Within preferences you also have the option to privately signal to recruiters you’re open to work, and set up job alerts so you don’t miss that next opportunity.

We’ll be adding more preferences to this page in the coming months - stay tuned.?

(3) Share your interest in companies directly with Recruiters with “I’m Interested”

It is a tight labor market. Sometimes, you know you’re interested in a company but can’t see the right job yet. You can now take advantage of the new I’m Interestedbutton. In addition to being available on an eligible company’s Page (on the Life tab),?it is now available on every job posted by the company.?

This button allows you to privately express interest in working for a company without having to apply for a specific role, even if there are no open roles at the company. And once you signal that you’re interested, recruiters at the company can view your profile when searching for candidates. We recommend signaling interest for your top 10-20 companies.

(4) And one last thing. If?you’re looking to supercharge your job search, you can take advantage of even more LinkedIn Premium tools for job seekers like the Top Choice Job feature—which helps you better stand out, making it 43% more likely to receive a message back from a Hiring Manager. Subscribers can also hone their search and save time with Advanced Premium Filters, making it easier to find and apply to jobs where you’d be a Top Applicant as well as find people Actively Hiring in or outside your network. We’re also starting to roll out a ?new AI-powered LinkedIn Premium experience to help you assess if a particular job is a good fit for you in seconds, identify the best way to position yourself for any job, and learn more about the company and industry.

We’re also continuing to work on the little things that matter, like showing you where you’ve viewed/applied for jobs, sharing how long it takes companies to respond, and making it even easier to apply with more Easy Apply job listings. We won’t stop until we’ve made your job search as smooth and as stress free as possible.??

We hope you find all these updates useful. There’s plenty more goodness to come in 2024 - and we’d love to hear from you on any feedback you have for us along the way on [email protected].?

Here’s wishing you all the best in your search - we’re rooting for you.

I have been wondering something about the 'I'm interested" button. When you say recruiters, do you mean the company HR? Who looks at your information? When do they reach out to the job seekers? Why do the only keep information on for only a year? Why not longer?

I just signed up for a job collection but apparently it is only shared via email and only once/week. Is there a way to see the list now?

Is there a reason Rohan Rajiv that Linkedin doesn't make these features available to everyone? Simply asking because I am a Premium subscriber and this is the second time I have heard of "new" features that I can't see. Thanks in advance for any insight! ??
