UNCONVENTIONAL WEAPONS

2 Cor. 10:3-5 says, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do

not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our

warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing

that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing

every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”

The battle is still the Lord’s and our weapons today consist of the mighty Name of Jesus, His shed blood, and the Word of God. The good news is that the victory has already been

won. In His death, burial, and resurrection, Christ “disarmed

principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them,

triumphing over them in it” Cor. 2:15.

Christ did not run away on the day of battle, although He was

tempted to do so in the Garden of Gethsemane. Heb. 12:3 says, “For consider Him Who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.”

Christ faced the enemy and reduced them to nothing 1 Cor. 2:6 and as a result of His obedience to the point of death, even the death of the cross, God has highly exalted

Him and given Him the Name which is above every name

Phil. 2:8,9.

Today, He is seated at the right hand of God waiting for us to do the same thing He did. Christ is “waiting till His enemies are made His footstool” Heb. 10:13, and this happens when we stand our ground and fight the good fight of faith.

It is encouraging to know that we are fighting a defeated

foe and one day we will gaze at the devil, consider him, and

say, “Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook

kingdoms, who made the world as a wilderness and destroyed

it’s cities, who did not open the house of his prisoners?” Is. 14:16,17.

Because the battle has already been won, then victory is assured every time we fight the good fight of faith. If we will trust God and “go forward” there is no way we can lose.

So, what are we waiting for? Let the battle begin!
