An uncomfortable truth about the waitress at the Mexican restaurant
Every day I walk by a Mexican restaurant without customers.
The waitress stands outside. She doesn’t smile or talk to people. She avoids action. Nothing changes.
But we all do this. We all stand outside and forget to smile. We all delay action.
Like the waitress, we delay our future to avoid pain, to avoid change.
But the pain we avoid doesn’t disappear. The pain we avoid is replaced by disappointment. Disappointment in what we could have achieved, but didn’t.
It’s hard to see the actions we avoid.
The waitress doesn’t notice the potential customers passing by. We don’t see our future slip away.
That’s why reflection matters. That’s why friends matter. That’s why novelty matters. To see the truth we’ve been missing.
Once you uncover what you avoid, you’ll know. Your ego will fight it. But you’ll realise what you avoided all along.
Now it’s up to you.
What are you blindly staring at? What action will you take today?
