  1. Today you need a favor from someone; tomorrow they are likely to need one from you.

2. You are not going “empty-handed”, begging but in a position to say “Thanks, I owe you one.”

3. Before meeting someone, check out their profile and notice how many times they changed jobs so you realize they were in your shoes before and understand the ‘spirit of networking’.
