Uncertainty!

Uncertainty--is surrounding all of us! Don't let your voice project uncertainty when talking about your skills, talents, and actions.

One issue I often encounter with clients (male and female) looking to improve the professional tone of their speech is upspeak. This is when you say sentences that are a statement but end with a rising intonation like you would a question.

 Speaking with upspeak can have some negative effects including:

·     Making you sound hesitant and unsure.

·    Causing people to doubt your message.

·    Distracting from your message because your audience gets caught up in your speech patterns rather than listening to your message.
