Unblocking Ideas in a Very Structured World
When we were children we learned many things through playing. We created basic knowledge based on our experiences, but from time to time we have lost this ability.
School, university, society and even our family's influence teach us patterns that are against that natural way in which we built our first knowledge. These patterns make us more insecure, more structured and less creative.
Lego? Serious Play? is a methodology created to (among many other reasons) discover the hidden knowledge all of us have: the things that "we don't know that we know". By taking advantage of the play's power but as adults taking it seriously we get a great combination.
Everyone Wants to Contribute
No matter the type of organization, team or social group, people always want to contribute and be part of a solution, people wish to be heard, to be taken into account.
This is precisely one of the main goals of the methodology: to make people feel they are part of the group and as a result contributing with the hidden ideas and knowledge they've always had inside but never discovered before.
And That's How Everyone Gets Involved
One of the powerful things of this methodology is that it easily gets a whole group or team involved, which generates input that we rarely get on regular meetings.
Things become more interesting when as a team we discover more knowledge from our peers, we generate shared ideas and we finally understand each other.
Definitely meetings will not ever be the same!
