?? Unbiased Ethics | Autocratic decisions lead to mass resignation.
?? Future of Work
? SIMPLY PUT: What won’t end even after COVID does?
You've heard of the cost-of-living crisis, now get ready for the cost-of-working crisis
As employers herd staff back to the office with few perks, workers are concerned about what it'll cost them
?? "Ethics" Concerns, Anyone?!
Autocratic decisions lead to mass resignation.
'Is that your definition of ethics': Ratan Tata questions companies that lay off long-serving employees
It is impossible to survive as a company if one is not sensitive to its people.
Business is not only about making money. One has to do everything right and ethically for customers and stakeholders.

?? My Perspective
1?? I cannot Believe ANY Customer would be sooooo inhumane that s/he would Require an Employee to Only Work From Office, irrespective of the Employee / Employee's Family's Health & Well-being or the Ethical Practices! ( Unless WFO is absolutely necessary to get the job done! )
2?? I certainly believe that there will be Enough Employees who would be very much interested in Working From Office, due to whatsoever Reasons { Except the "Work", you know, such as the Coffee Breaks, Meetups, Timepass etc. (Some of which are Overhyped by the Employers themselves, for eliciting WFO, and many more Unbelievable negative brainwashing stuff!) } and for the same Reasons, they'd be Enforcing WFO for their Subordinates, too, Irrespective of the Ethical practices!?!
3?? It's such a shame that it took a Pandemic (Millions of Innocents' deaths) for the most Employers to Accept that Yes, We Can Work Remotely, even Better and More Efficiently.. and yet again, many of those Employers are enforcing WFO for Everyone, presumably for the selfish Reasons Beyond the Actual Work or the Ethical practices !?!
While the Employers argue that before pandemic, Employees were already working from office and stuff, but even then Employees knew that the actual work can be done from anywhere, still they didn't have that Choice!
Then during pandemic, Just because these Employers had NO CHOICE, only that's why they allowed remote work?
Now, the Employers have Choice, and hence, again inconsiderately, indirectly coercing WFO onto All Employees!?!
If your office is where you live now, would you live in your old office?
...
The lesson I take from the open-source revolution and the last two decades of software development is that the platforms and tools with the least friction tend to win out.
A “butts-in-seats” mentality that demands a regular commute on a rigid schedule creates a ton of unnecessary friction—in our jobs and in our lives.
The city of the future, I hope, will be a place where anyone can safely and securely contribute their ideas or apply their skills. Make the permissionless innovation of open source the bedrock ideology of the next generation of urban centers, and we can start to build a new metropolis better-suited to our post-industrial age of information.

4?? Let's please not misguide about WFO <=> Personal Connect, Learning, Growth etc.?
Although, unfortunately, it appears to be Highly likely that those who would obey the command for WFO would be rewarded with better hikes, promotions, onsite opportunities etc. ( Irrespective of Work Performance! )
However, with the advent of latest technologies for Workplace Collaboration, e-Learning etc., Employees know very well they can Learn & Grow, from Anywhere, And for the Career Progression / Growth, within / outside an Organization, it is also very well-known how it works and the pertinent "Ethical" Practices!
5?? As far as WFO <=> "Friendly" Meetups are concerned, Most Employees can take care of it on their own, keeping personal and professional lives separate, as appropriate.
Employees (AND their Family) at their Hometown (Or preferred location) can even meet their local Friends, Family, Relatives etc., which would certainly be far more better for the Health and Well-being of ALL of them, rather than just meeting Coworkers only, while Mandatory WFO outside Hometown.
6?? Regarding WFO <=> Nearby Socio-economic impact.
There's a perspective that because of the WFO and corresponding Employees living in nearby areas, it'd be helpful for the Local Economy.
So, how about the Local Economy of the Employee's Hometown (Or preferred location) ? ?? ( "Vocal for Local" )
Even while working from a preferred location, employees still can visit other places, as necessary! With Remote Work, instead of a concentrated economic growth, it'd be far wide-spread growth across the Nation. Isn't it!
7?? Employers enforcing WFO to selected Employees who would necessarily prefer WFH, and then deducting their salary, despite the Employees would have worked on all days!
I can't believe how could someone drop down to this level!! What sort of Ethical Practice / Cost-cutting would this be!?! Instead of such indirect harassment, shouldn't employers rather clearly ask for resignations, if needed?!
8?? Remote Work Benefits
???=> ?? Employer is Happy.
???=> ?? Employer is Angry, doesn't believe in sharing the benefits of Remote Work?!

I just don't understand such "UNethical", ruthless inclination towards such blatantly discriminatory biases, especially while we are talking about Ethics, Workplace Culture, Social Health And Well-being, Sustainability etc. !!
No hard feelings, just the job, for the greater good, for the ~helpless folks like me - who would be going through similar pain, but cannot speak up (or even react) fearing the Inevitable Retaliation ( Irrespective of the Ethical Practices?! ).
Please correct me if I'm wrong! :)
?? Potential Solution
? Outcome-oriented Mindset. Unbiased Ethics (AND its implementation). Genuine Care for ALL. NO Favoritism. No Pay Disparity...
? Ensure Meritocracy, Commensurate and Timely Rewards (Without Constraints, Deferred Scams etc.)
Win - Win - Win - Win - Win - Win - Win
Employer - Customer - Employee - Real Family - Local Economy - Nation - ESG
Still, if WFO is indeed the extreme necessity,
Employees would be more than happy to work from Office / OOZ / Satellite Workplace, within commutable distance, in their Hometown.
Even they'd happily share the reasonable expenses, too, if needed!!
OR
If Employers don't trust their very own Employees for Information Security / Dedication / Moonlighting etc., Openly Engage All the Surveillance Systems in place, for the Suspects, and do the needful for working in harmony.
Better yet, Stay Ethical, Honest, Transparent, Trustworthy.., to avoid such unnecessary, prolonged ~conflicts of interests!!
I repeat, eventually,
Workplace Culture <=> Organizational Belongingness. :)

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the future needs flexible working hours and workplaces as well as a work-from-home ecosystem, even as he stressed that the country must remain aware of emerging dimensions of work and "change as per changing scenario".
Michael asserts that if one believes that the compelled hours spent in typical offices foster teamwork and give one a sense of belonging, they are completely mistaken.
Michael thinks that because of technology, businesses can forge better corporate cultures because anything is possible to do from anywhere in the world. Technology allows for a "do-anything-from-anywhere world, where work is an outcome rather than a location or time," the author stated.
"You can develop a great corporate culture anywhere, all the time."
The entrepreneur claimed that WFH is favourable for both enterprises and workers.
