According to media, a paid passenger who had already boarded a United Airline Flight 3411 was violently removed from a plane so a crew member could have his seat. It is reported that the Airline had been trying to make room for four employees of a partner airline, which resulted in four passengers being told to get off the aircraft. It was a flight from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport to Louisville.
The airline had offered $ 800 who was willing to give up their seats but when no one was ready to accept the offer, the airline had picked four passengers at random. Three of them had complied but the fourth who claimed to be a medical doctor refused. The man was forcibly pulled out by the security staff from his window seat, across the armrest and dragging him down the aisle by his arms.
This is a huge PR issue for the airline. The stocks of the airline had plunged $ 1.4 billion after the incident. The video captured by a passenger had gone viral. It is interesting to see how the airline would handle this crisis.
