Unbecoming Who We "Should" Be to Lead Authentically

Unbecoming Who We "Should" Be to Lead Authentically

I’ve been sitting with something for a while now, and it feels too big to keep to myself any longer. Today, I’m finally ready to share it with you. A huge shift is coming for the podcast, and I can’t wait to have you along for the ride. ??

If you’ve been with me on this journey of?Who Are You to Lead Anyway?, you know that it’s always been about diving deep into leadership, confronting tough questions, and challenging ourselves to grow.?

From the very beginning, I’ve asked both myself and you:?“Who am I to lead?” It’s been a powerful experience, peeling back layers of old beliefs, letting go of societal pressures, and reclaiming what it truly means to lead with authenticity.

But here’s the thing: we’re not staying the same.

We’re evolving.

And so is this podcast.

It’s time for a change—a shift that reflects the real, messy, and beautifully imperfect work we’re doing. Yes, that’s right. The title is changing. And trust me, this isn’t just a name change—it’s a reflection of who we’re becoming together.

So why change now?

In today’s episode, I’m sharing exactly why the title is shifting, and what it means for you and me as we step into something more real, more raw, and more freeing.?

We’re not just talking about leadership anymore.?

We’re talking about the process of unbecoming—shedding the parts of ourselves that no longer serve us, and stepping fully into who we are meant to be. It’s messy, it’s vulnerable, and it’s powerful. And I want you to be part of this.

Here’s where you come in: I need your help.

This title change is about more than just a name—it’s about capturing the heart of what we’re creating together.?

And I want you to be a part of it.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on what this podcast should be called moving forward. What title would best capture the spirit of authenticity, vulnerability, and personal growth that we’re diving into?

Please, take a moment to send me your ideas!?

I can’t wait to hear what comes up for you.

In the meantime, when you tune into this episode, you’ll learn about:

  • The Big Shift:?Why the podcast is changing and what that means for the conversations we’re having and the work we’re doing together.
  • The Process of Unbecoming:?The deep and freeing work of letting go of who we thought we “should” be, and creating space for the truest version of ourselves.
  • Real Talk:?Why embracing vulnerability and the messiness of life is exactly what leads us to true personal growth and leadership.

This isn’t just about leadership in a workplace.?

This is about leading our whole lives in a way that feels true, aligned, and deeply fulfilling—no matter where we are on our journey.

I’m so excited to be stepping into this new phase with you.?

And I want you with me as we explore what it truly means to lead with authenticity.?Don’t miss this episode—it’s a pivotal moment for us all.

What an exciting shift, Cynthia! Embracing the vulnerable and "messy" sides of leadership is exactly where true growth happens. At Upnotch, we’ve seen firsthand the power of authentic leadership to drive not just professional but personal transformation. This evolution sounds like it's going to resonate deeply with so many. Looking forward to tuning in and joining this journey with you! For the new podcast title, how about something like "Leading Beyond Titles" or "The Real Leadership Shift"? Can't wait to see where this goes
