Nowadays the marine market is full of various spare parts and equipment. Seemingly, there is no such parts, which could not find and buy. But it seems so only at first sight. In fact, there are parts that are simply not available.
With this kind of problem met one of ship-owning company, which send us request for Sulzer 6RTA72 water separator element after air cooler. As it turned out there is no possibilities to get element of water separator on the market.
When we get such kind of requests, we would like to know more about the requested parts or equipment, so taking the opportunity we would like to take a closer to look at Sulzer RTA72 history, which we found in Maritime Magazine dated 1988.
Reverting to our rerquest, let's look closer to our task and what problem we had and how could we help to our good client.
Subject: Broken plates for main engine Sulzer 6RTA72 water separator after air cooler
As we see, corrosion does not regret anyone and plates crumble before our eyes, so plates need to be changed as soon as possible.
First of all, of course we applied to original W?rtsil? manufacturer distributor and they offer to us complete Sulzer water separator. Unfortunately, separate plates cannot be provided and water separator should be change completely. This variant does not satisfy our client-ship-owner, so we continue to search for alternative variants, namely, for possible manufacturing. After unsuccessful investigation on the European market, we applied to our Asian partners in order to manufacture the plates in the shortest time. Here we get a real success, due to our partners offered to us manufacturing of exact water separator plates for 10 days! Finally should be manufactured 9 pcs per the sample. Each piece consists of 7 pcs of fins.
And final result exceeded all expectations.
Here is a wonderful proof that there are no impossible and unrealizable goals. Therefore I want to say thank you to our partners and to our good client for the opportunity to getting such an invaluable experience.
