Unafraid on the Field
As much as we like to watch a game from the stands, it is not the same as being on the field. We cheer when the team is doing well, yell when they make mistakes and disappointed when they loose.
Living the predictability of being on the bench is easier living the unpredictability of being in game. By being on the bench you do get to avoid making mistakes in front of people, being challenged under pressure and having to find wins in the face of loosing.
No one likes being the center of negative attention. I haven’t see one winner yet who has been able to avoid it. Drama, which is not an achievement at all, overshadows any positive victory that is worked toward and earned. Many great people in this world could have been greater if they were not more afraid drama than succeeding. It’s understandable though. If the world praised positive achievements over negative mistakes, would you be less fearful to get into the game? Since the world is not going to change, you are going to have to change the world by being unafraid. It’s not going to be glamorous, but at least you can say that you left it all on the field with no regrets.
