Unabashed MMGY Global "Self Praise"?
40 YEARS FOCUSED ON SUCCESS IN TRAVEL

Unabashed MMGY Global "Self Praise"

MMGY Global's best of times and best of people

I've been doing this a long time. I remember when our company was just a little Kansas City start-up with a few travel clients and even fewer fans, a time when a handful of us did everything from answering the phones to concepting the work to chasing clients for new projects. We all believed in the power of travel and it was fun to work in a small group, even if our impact was pretty darn tiny. It was a time when the travel industry was more romantic and certainly offered the unexpected, before the digital world made it a tad more predictable. I remember traveling to Moscow and Caracas in the 90s, with no phone, no internet and no trip tools like we have today. It felt more intrepid, if not less productive and more complicated.

30 years later, we've arrived into this new travel paradigm in so many exciting ways, going well beyond what was possible with our small group from back then. With seven operating brands, over 400 wanderlust colleagues around the world, a collection of high-profile travel clients and work that is making a significant impact on five continents, we've proven that a focus in one industry can be fulfilling and important.

As we wrapped the halfway mark in 2022, I thought it important to reflect on all of the many milestones our MMGY Global leadership team has achieved. Their success has exceeded anything I could ever expected just 24 months ago, in the midst of Covid.

What an effort!

Record Q2 revenue, 15% above the next best quarter in company history with record EBITDA and growth rates. We have now built a company valued at $200 million, the largest integrated marketing firm in travel.

Cause-related company contributions exceeding $1 million, including research grants for Black entrepreneurs, support of Latino and Latina small businesses through Travel Unity and an upcoming grant program for the United Spinal Association, connected to accessibility research we are executing with Wheel the World . Our pro bono work with Meeting Needs , contribution to the amazing mission of Jon Albert & JAJF , and investments in Tourism Cares and WTTC have all allowed our teams to prop up key travel organizations that fuel our passion.

Award winning work for clients such as Colorado Tourism and Marriott along with record campaign results for clients including Margaritaville Resorts and Windstar Cruises. And our team's role in helping Kansas City attract World Cup 2026 was the thrill of a lifetime.

Industry leading research pointing the way out of Covid, contextualizing the war in Ukraine and accurately predicting travel patterns in 2022 that caught others off guard. And our global team continues to publish and speak at important events including Brand USA Travel Week, Eye For Travel, IMPACT Sustainability, the Social Media & Influencer Global Summit and the Women In Travel Symposium.

New campaign innovations including a one-of-a-kind DXP platform for the cruise industry, an expanded data-led programmatic platform for tourism clients and the curation of our bespoke influencer group, MMGY Globetrotters, for clients across PR and social media. I'm proud of recent brand development work we have done with Asheville in North Carolina, Hyatt's AMR Collection portfolio and LATAM Airlines. We've also recently implemented two new employee-driven innovation programs, both for staff and clients, that was the result of an internal company competition rewarding winners with a $20,000 cash prize.

Elevation of top company performers across key senior global positions, including Alex Delf , Rob Jolliffe , Caroline Moultrie , Jessica Schultz, Jonathan Sloan , Daniel Wallace and Mia Wise. All of these women and men being rewarded for their tireless contributions as our company scales to meet the needs of clients and colleagues. Our HR team rolled-out a new Travel Rewards benefit this year, outlined by our team in this video . We recently stood-up a week of company learning, introducing our team to thought leaders including the only Broadway performer to play all five key roles in Hamilton, a small business that is connecting travel start-ups through online incubators and a collection of our own Employee Resource Group leaders who addressed a variety of topics relative to the quality of our workplace.

What a ride it has been. The travel industry will generate over $13 Trillion of annual economic impact by 2025 and we are proud of our growing role in the only industry we have ever known. And I'm certainly not shy about sharing the collective accomplishments of our team, our clients and our partners.

MMGY Myriad is making a massive difference in the Rwandan economy where our work with the government to shape tourism investment strategy is changing the country's future.

Nice compilation of your varied and many successes! I certainly can relate to your initial years of struggle and hard work since that's what I did 37 years ago when I established our business here in Fort Myers, FL. Now, as I enter the twilight of my career, it's gratifying to look back on all the hard work, successes and, yes, failures, that helped our business grow and develop. Thanks for sharing all this & congratulations on your success!
