“Un respiro por el planeta”: One Year of Commitment to Responsible Waste Management

This November, we are proud to celebrate the first anniversary of our partnership with the civil association Somos Más Decididos A.C. Together, we have successfully implemented the recycling program “Un respiro por el planeta” [“A Breath for the Planet”], an initiative focused on promoting proper waste management in our corporate office, contributing to a more sustainable future ??????.

Our collaborators have been key to the program’s success. Thanks to their commitment, we have collected and properly disposed of 1,870 kg of solid waste, including cardboard, paper, batteries, expired medications, Tetra Pak containers, plastic caps, PET, cigarette butts, and electronic waste.

This achievement is possible thanks to our collaborators and the support of Somos Más Decididos A.C, a Veracruz-based organization with over 12 years of experience driving initiatives across various municipalities in the state - through sustainability strategies, environmental education, and responsible waste management.

Our collaborator, Rosario González, who has inspired her teammates through her leadership and whose department has made the largest contribution to the program, shares her testimony and the motivation behind their significant participation:

"Seeing change is what drives us. We owe so much to the planet—water, air, the food we eat—and giving back, even in small ways, makes a difference. Our motivation is knowing that, one day, future generations can enjoy nature’s gifts because we took action today. Visiting the mangroves reminded us why we recycle: to protect these beautiful spaces and ensure they endure. What’s truly inspiring is how one person’s effort can ignite a movement—when we work together, we amplify our impact. This isn’t just about us; it’s about a global benefit, a collective effort to create a lasting change".

This first year of actions marks the beginning of a joint effort to continue bringing together allies and generating real impact.

Additionally, it serves as a way to align with legal and regulatory compliance within our contracts. We are convinced that through initiatives like this, we can create a positive impact that transcends our organization and benefits the planet," states Paola Verde, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Grupo Nuvoil.
