Umbraco in the Headlines | November Edition ??

We're running out of ways to say, "This month has been amazing for Umbraco." ??

Every month, the Umbraco CMS hits the mark with its reported positive product direction, juicy upgrades, product updates, HQ announcements, and community contributions!

So, what's been going on in the last 30 days?

A lot, as usual.

Here are our top 3 newsworthy takeaways:

1. Umbraco 15 is released: Could this version be a marketer's and content editors' dream? ??

Last month, we sat in the Umbraco London Meetup listening to and enjoying a preview of the soon-to-be-released Umbraco 15.

Released on November 14, our development team has had the opportunity to explore the new backoffice and the consensus so far...it's great!

Here's why marketers and content editors might love Umbraco 15:

  • Faster loading and publishing: Umbraco 15 is built for speed, so your website loads quicker and publishing content is a breeze!
  • Easier content management: The updated tools in the back office make editing content simple—whether for one language or many. This helps your team stay on-brand while improving SEO and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO)
  • Stronger integrations: With improved API support, connecting to your favourite CRM, marketing tools, or analytics platforms is seamless. (We're big fans of uMarketingSuite (Umbraco Engage) )
  • Flexible design: Thanks to its modular setup, Umbraco 15 lets you easily expand your site's features in terms of appearance and functionality.
  • Built-in accessibility:?Umbraco 15 helps you stay on top of accessibility standards like WCAG with built-in tools that help ensure your site works for everyone and reduces legal risks.
  • Dark mode done right: And yes, it includes a super sleek dark mode for all the night owls out there.

Did you know: ?? Umbraco 15 is a minor release with Standard-Term Support (STS) for 9 months, focusing on updates and improvements, while the next major release is Umbraco 16. If you want to know if Umbraco 15 is right for your project, drop Adam Shallcross a DM or visit Cogworks website. ?

2. Umbraco Introduces Umbraco Engage: Personalisation made simple.

Umbraco recently acquired Umbraco Engage (formally known as uMarketingSuite).

We've been working with uMarketingSuite since day dot. It was an incredible platform then, and it's an even better platform now.

On the 7th of November, Umbraco released more about the new add-on for Umbraco. Umbraco Engage is a new tool for Umbraco CMS that helps you make smarter content decisions. It offers features like:

  • Analytics
  • Customer Profiling
  • A/B Testing
  • Personalisation

Everything is built into the friendly Umbraco backoffice for easy use. With Umbraco Engage, you can track performance, test ideas, and create tailored experiences that drive real results for B2B businesses.

3. A talk at the Umbraco UK festival that left Umbraco Partners inspired about sustainability.

Asim, (a man), Presenting a talk on stage in front of an audience about how we can be more sustainable in IT

While there were many amazing talks, one talk, in particular, seemed to go down a treat, leaving the audience with food for thought. ??

Asim Hussain (Executive Director Green Software Foundation ) presented "Doing for sustainability, what open source did for software", Adam Shallcross summed it up perfectly:

"Just wow. I haven't seen such an inspiring talk in a long time. It was funny, insightful, and packed with actionable ideas to make the software more sustainable—starting with better ways to measure and reduce its environmental impact.

I'll be taking these ideas back to the COGWORKS team immediately. We all need to do our bit, and ICT has a key role in making software use less power and, therefore, less carbon."

Other attendees were equally impressed. Jenny Bradshaw called it an "incredible talk" with takeaways for individual and business-level sustainability. Others described it as "thought (and action!) provoking" and "exciting."

Why did we pick this as a "headline"?

Frankly, these enthusiastic responses power the ever-present spirit of collaboration and innovation within the Umbraco ecosystem!

Inspired by talks like these, partner agencies and contributors work to improve Umbraco all year round, helping to elevate digital brands everywhere and solidify the positive product direction that Umrbaco is known for.
