Ultra Modern Times

Many decades back Charlie Chaplain released a movie called Modern Times, which focused on a future where men will be slaves of machines. He also created a movie called The Great Dictator where the speech about a different future made all of us smile with hope. Unfortunately this hope was short-lived. Today we are again at crossroads. A point in time when we still have a choice. In these ultra modern times we are now facing a situation that can ensure extinction of the human race.

For a while countries appeared to have given up their differences and joined hands in tackling the situation. India was applauded for the global role it played in saving human beings. Today, as India gets deeper into crisis we can see it isolated with a lot of promises, none of which may mean anything. We have to accept that we as a country have to come out of this ourselves. Even as I write this I can see that we are doing everything to further divide ourselves as a country. States are blaming the Centre, and the Centre is blaming the States. In the midst of all this we want to do all things, like electioneering and kumbh melas, to worsen our own chances of survival. Then we have social media that enjoys creating as much negativity and panic as possible. We all like to talk about doomsday and spread the gloom around this.

I believe that we, as citizens of this highly spiritual land are quite capable of coming out of any situation. Our faith in GOD is of the highest order which comes from our belief that each one of us is GOD himself/herself. The divine qualities that we praise in GOD very much exist in all of us. They get manifest when we reject our limitations.

Finally we have to accept that death is one reality that we cannot deny. In any situation be it a pandemic or otherwise we have to go. Some times we go in larger numbers due to accidents or natural disasters or due to wars and at other times we go as ones and twos. Yes none of us like the idea of giving up this body, but do we have a choice in this matter. Like in matters of birth, we have no choice, in matters of death too we are just instruments that need to experience this. Since none of us is sure that we will survive this situation let us try to live in the best manner, in a manner that will ensure good karmas for our own benefit in the future.

This is the month of Ramzaan. Let us purify ourselves and prepare ourselves for GOD to become manifest in us.

Let the Ultra Modern Times be times when all of us walk on this planet and beyond as GODs.
