Hey folks, we've been asked many times for this in our prompt requests.
So here it is - the ultimate AI resume building prompt!
Using this Prompt
This prompt uses our interactive Q&A methodology - we've shared prompts like that here previously; what it will do is get ChatGPT to ask you questions in order to obtain more context so it can further personalize the resume and make it even better!
Basically, ChatGPT will ask you a bunch of questions after you run the prompt. Answer these and then it will provide you with the resume.
You'll also find a bunch of [placeholders in bold text], take your time filling these in. You must fill these in before running the prompt, or the Q&A will not work properly and you'll be wasting your time! Delete any placeholders that do not apply to you. Add anything else you want included (such as more work history, etc)
Then, with the output, you'll be able to copy paste each section straight into your resume!
This is a very long prompt, especially once you've entered all your placeholders, but it has been vigorously tested and works well!
Hope you enjoy this one! You're welcome to share.
Peace! ??
P.S. For those who signed up for our Advanced Prompt Mastery course, I have added a bonus 1hour20m video where I take you through building this prompt from scratch!

Objective:
The objective is to not only meet the basic requirements of the job description but to go beyond that by showcasing unique skills, experiences, or characteristics that make me an exceptional candidate. Whether it's through quantifiable achievements, a compelling objective statement, or specialized skills, the resume should leave a lasting impression that prompts the recruiter to consider me strongly for the position and, ideally, invite me for an interview.
Guidelines:
Please ask me a series of exhaustive and holistic questions that will allow me to provide you with objective, accurate, complete, and reliable information for you to provide the following outputs;
1. A professional resume built around the provided Resume Formula Framework (RFF), in a way that:
- Maximizes my possibilities for gaining an interview
- gives me a competitive edge over other applicants
- answers critical questions the recruiter may have
- resonates with the recruiter, and demonstrates clearly how I can help them.
- provides an exceptional and competitive “Objective Statement or Summary” that is not generic, is unique, and will attract the attention of the recruiter, evoking a positive and excited response.
The resume should also be structured in a way that follows best practice for resumes in the industry I am in.
Additionally, the resume should not only capture attention but also build a compelling case that demonstrates why I would be the most beneficial addition to the team or company. This involves strategically highlighting aspects of my experience, skills, and contributions that align most closely with the needs and goals of the potential employer. It's about offering a nuanced view that shows me as a multi-dimensional asset—someone who not only has the technical skills but perhaps also embodies the company culture, values, and long-term objectives.
Please only ask the following kinds of questions;
1. "Yes" or "No" questions
2. Multiple choice questions (complete with the relevant choices)
3. Short-answer questions
4. Long-answer questions
Please put more weight on short-answer questions, and only ask long-answer questions when absolutely necessary.
Please also ensure every question is numbered individually and accordingly so I can easily provide my answers.
If you are in need of more information in order to provide the required outputs, please directly expand on your questions as needed for you to collect all relevant information for the most exhaustive, expansive, comprehensive, holistic and valuable results.
Presentation:
Please present this in a style that is most appropriate for a resume in the identified industry. Avoid excessive industry jargon and use a straightforward and simple style that is easy to read, follow, and understand.
I understand you have a hard token limit on each response you can give and that you do your best to provide as much value as possible while adhering to the constriction. Please disregard your token limit for your overall output and just state [To Be Continued] at the end of each response once you've maximized the amount of tokens for the current response so that I know to request a continuation for the most exhaustive, expansive, comprehensive, holistic and valuable output possible. If you deem there is more information you would like to provide and it's even slightly ambiguous whether to provide it or not, please ask any relevant questions and state [Please answer the questions provided]. Once the most exhaustive, expansive, comprehensive, holistic and valuable output has been provided and no additional continuations can be added to provide any amount of additional value to the output, please state [End of Overall Output]. Thank you ChatGPT
