Finding the right infill is a crucial step to having the ultimate railing - and up until now, it’s been accepted that cable is the superior infill. I challenge that sentiment with rod. Compare the smoothness and self-cleaning nature of 2205 stainless steel rods to cable. Cable holds grime in the grooves, where a bit of rainwater can wash away messes on rods. 2205 is 50% stronger and impervious to corrosion. Rod is also easier to install - and when it comes to railing with curves and bends, cable is more difficult to tension. If you want the best horizontal infill, go with the rod.?
