The Ultimate On-Page SEO Strategy to Increase E-com Traffic by 3X!
In the last 2 month, two of my clients have seen organic traffic to their Product pages absolutely skyrocket.
It only took 5-minutes of work.
And they made a TON of money from it.
Here's how...
1. Keyword Research
Both of of these clients had a specific Product page they were looking to drive more traffic to.
Traffic generation for SEO starts with finding the right keyword with high search volume, but low competition.
The first thing I do when doing keyword research is find a competing product in Google, and plug that page into Ahrefs to see what keywords it ranks for.
This typically gives me a nice list of keyword opportunities to sort through until I find a winner.
A winning keyword in this case should:
1. Have transactional intent
2. Have a high search volume
3. Have low competition
If the keyword is ranked for by a competing Product page, it's safe to say that it has transactional intent.
If the search volume is higher than around 500, it's safe to say that it has high search volume.
But determining if a keyword is low competition is always tricky.
There's numerous way to do it, but this is simplest way:
Use the SERPs feature in Ahrefs to see the top-10 pages ranking for a particular keyword.
Check to see if there are any sites ranking for the keyword with a DR < 40 with 0 referring domains.
If you can find a site like that, you should be able to get on the 1st page.
This is because a page that has a DR < 40 with 0 referring domains is what I'd consider a weak page.
The idea is:
领英推荐
If a weak page can rank for the keyword, why couldn't you?
Once you've identified the winning keyword for your Product page, it's time to do on-page optimization.
2. On-Page Optimization
On-page optimization comes down to placing the keyword in the right areas of the page:
A. URL
Place your winning keyword in the URL of your Product page
B. Title tag
Place your winning keyword in the Title tag of your Product page.
If have a branded title already in place, include your keyword in this manner:
PRODUCT TITLE | WINNING KEYWORD
So, if your product is called My Amazing Gummies, it would be written as:
My Amazing Gummies | WINNING KEYWORD
C. H2 tag
Place your winning keyword in an H2 tag within the description of your Product.
If you aren't using heading tags in your product, find a way to use at least one H2 tag so you can include the winning keyword in it
D. Product Description
Place your winning keyword at the beginning and end of your product description
And that's literally it.
Place your winning keyword in those four areas of your Product page, and you'll start to see an increase in keyword rankings and traffic for it.
It's worth noting, however, if you have low authority site, you may need more than on-page optimization to see a boost in traffic.
You'll need some link building done, as well as some topically relevant content published.
Every SEO campaign is different!
