How to Access the LinkedIn Audio Feature

As of January 2022, there is a beta group with about 200 members testing out the new LinkedIn Audio Event Feature.

The roll out will then continue to LinkedIn members with Creator Mode turned on. PS - Here is a Step-by-Step Guide to turning on Creator Mode .

How to Find LinkedIn Audio Events

Until we all get access, the next best thing is to start attending events, try out the feature, test your microphone, and be an early adopter.

The best ways to locate upcoming Audio Events are:

1. Search for "Audio Event" and Filter the results to Events, Click Attend and Save to Calendar
2. Follow event speakers and creators creating and hosting LinkedIn Audio Event Rooms
3. Search and Follow the hashtags #linkedinaudio and #linkedinaudioevent
4. Follow the LinkedIn Creator Managers and the 100 Creators in the first LinkedIn Creator Accelerator Program

How to JOIN a LinkedIn Audio Event

Join LinkedIn Audio Events from either Desktop or Mobile and you can switch between desktop and mobile during the event.

Since the feature is NEW give yourself at least 10 minutes before the event to troubleshoot, update the LinkedIn App, and give the event microphone access.

Bonus Advice ?? Join a LinkedIn Audio Event that is showing people how to use the feature.

How to Create a LinkedIn Audio Event

Once LinkedIn rolls out access to the Audio Events, you use the EVENT feature and select "LinkedIn Audio Event".

How to Navigate the LinkedIn Audio Event

Here is a quick list of key details and features:

• Emoji reactions are available for everyone to see
• The order of the speakers on stage varies
• 3 hour event time limit for audio rooms
• Currently no ability to record the room
• 17 speakers on stage at one time
• Raise your hand to get invited onto the stage and only the host can bring people to stage

• Return to listening by clicking on your profile face to "move to listening"

• The mute and unmute button is on the bottom right (since the feature is NEW be careful with the mute button)
• All rooms are public and created from a personal profile
• There is a Prelive holding room for the event attendees
• There is a Prelive room for speakers to talk before the event goes Public...

Join an event because you never know who you will get a chance to talk with or who is listening.

Personally, Social Audio Events have changed my life!
