The Cuban Government and Health Officials recently released a statement informing all travelers about new Cuba entry requirements.

The Ministry of Public Health note explains how the improvements in the international and national situation of COVID-19 and the levels of immunization achieved (Cuba has administered at least 35,426,263 doses of COVID vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs two doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 156.3% of the country’s population), has led Cuban authorities to relax the Covid-19 protocol for entering the country as part of the International Sanitary Control starting on April 6th, 2022.

The modification of Cuba entry requirements includes:

• The elimination of the COVID-19 test (antigen or PCR-RT) and vaccination certificate as an entry requirement.
• Passengers will be subject to Covid-19 health screening and may be subject to a random RT-PCR test on arrival. If the sample taken at the point of entry is positive, it will proceed according to the protocols approved in the country for the clinical-epidemiological control of COVID-19.
• Passengers must complete their?Advanced Travel Information?before boarding.

Passengers showing symptoms of Covid-19 or another disease will be referred to a health institution for further evaluation. It is currently required (as of April 2022) to wear masks everywhere in Cuba except in your own home and when you are eating or drinking in a restaurant, bar, or music venue. You must wear a mask in vehicles, on buses, and even in the streets.

All flows and measures implemented at all entry points into the country that guarantee social distancing and the disinfection of hands and surfaces are maintained.
