The Ultimate 90-Day LinkedIn Content Plan

Here is a 90-day LinkedIn Content Plan for Business Owners:

I have organized the plan in three phases so that it is easier to follow. This is exactly how I would start and gain momentum on LinkedIn with my personal brand if I were to start over today.

Phase 1 (30 days):

Start with one short video (30 seconds to 2 minutes) per day. The video should include you in it so that your audience begins to associate you with your expertise.

Reasoning:

  • Your competitors are less likely doing video compared to text or image posts, eliminating a large percentage of your competitors from the start.
  • Video allows potential clients to see and hear you explain things, see your personality, and know that you're a real person.
  • Daily video forces you to practice video skills that will pay dividends in the future when you want to create courses, webinars, challenges, or start a YouTube channel.

Phase 2 (30 days):

Add the following per week:

  • 1 LinkedIn Live Video
  • 1 LinkedIn Newsletter

Reasoning:

  • You eliminate more of your competitors when you start to show up on live video weekly because there's a high likelihood that they would never (and are not even doing any live video now or at least doing it well)
  • Live video gives your network a chance to experience who you really are and a way to ask you a question (without preparation); this is usually enough to get the right people to book calls with you (or take action on your CTA)
  • LinkedIn newsletters allow you to segment followers who are interested in the result that you can help them achieve
  • LinkedIn newsletters allow you to reach people not only on LinkedIn, but also in their inbox and on search engines
  • LinkedIn newsletters add authority when someone is viewing your profile
  • LinkedIn newsletters are an effective distribution tool to get more people to your live events (on and off of LinkedIn) as well as to drive traffic to your CTA

Note: Based on experience coaching hundreds of business owners, once you reach this phase you should start to monetize. If you do 4 consecutive live video events (weekly) and don't monetize, there's likely an issue with your messaging and delivery.

Phase 3 (30 days):

Make data-driven decisions by doubling down on the top 3 types of content that drove your primary goal the most in phases 1-2. Use AI data analysis tools like ChatGPT to identify the top 3 topics of content. Track things internally like consultations booked or inbound emails added to your private email list, not just views and impressions.

Note: By the end of this phase you should have secured at least 1 high-paying client or have experienced noticeable differences in whatever result it was you were working towards.

Conclusion:

The reality is, only about 1% of people will make it to phase 3 and have enough data from phases 1-2 to optimize.

Common excuses that prevent people from creating content include not having enough time, lacking a fancy equipment like a camera or microphone, wanting a perfect strategy before starting, disliking how they look on camera, fearing judgment from former colleagues, and previously trying and failing on social media.

But it really just comes down to fear trying to cloak itself in excuses. Fear of failure, fear of success, fear of change. But fear is a liar that will keep you from fulfilling your purpose of helping others.

Creating valuable content on LinkedIn consistently is the path to earning trust at scale and completely transforming your life and business.

You have two choices.

To start or sit on the sidelines.

Sincerely,
