Ulstein building Nexans' new CLV and other major contracts

“Ulstein is excited to see Nexans return to Ulstein Verft for the construction of a new cable laying vessel." - The big news came as we were closing the working week on Friday. In addition to this, last week brought a number of major wins.

Nexans placed an order with Ulstein Verft for the construction of its new cable-laying vessel (CLV), said to be an updated version of the Nexans Aurora.

The vessel features a split turntable on deck capable of holding up to 10,000 tons of cable, an under-deck turntable with a 3,500-ton cable capacity, and a fiber optic basket holding 450 tons.

DOF Group won three new service contracts with Brazilian state-owned oil and gas giant?Petrobras that are worth more than $260 million.

The contracts include survey and inspection work and will see at least three vessels used to perform flexible pipeline, risers and subsea equipment inspection.

Shortly after this announcement, the Norwegian company secured an extension of what it described as a “large subsea service contract”. The estimated revenue from the contract is approximately $60 million.

UK’s Enshore Subsea and Belgian Herbosch-Kiere secured a $200 million contract to deliver onshore and offshore works for two links in Senegal as part of a program that aims to revolutionize the country’s power infrastructure and provide sustainable electricity to millions of people.

The companies will establish an integrated joint venture in which both will share 50% of the responsibilities.
