Ukrainian Exports Surpass Previous Year’s Totals Before Year-end

Ukrainian exports have already surpassed the total value of goods exported in 2023, according to Yulia Svyrydenko, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine. As of November 17, 2024, the country's exports reached $36.3 billion, exceeding the $36.2 billion recorded for the entirety of 2023.

This increase in exports has been attributed to several factors, including the timely exportation of newly harvested agricultural products, the effective operation of the "Ukrainian Sea Corridor," and the ongoing recovery of domestic production within the nation.

Key export products contributing to the 2024 figures include:

  • Sunflower, safflower or cottonseed oils: $4.4 billion (5.3 million tons)
  • Corn: $4.2 billion (25.5 million tons)
  • Wheat and wheat-rye mixtures: $3.4 billion (19.0 million tons)
  • Iron ores and concentrates: $2.5 billion (29.7 million tons)
  • Rapeseed or colza seeds: $1.7 billion (3.5 million tons)
  • Insulated wires and cables: $1.1 billion (60.5 thousand tons)
  • Soybeans (crushed or uncrushed): $1.1 billion (2.8 million tons)

Furthermore, preliminary data from January 1 to October 31, 2024, indicate a physical export volume of over 110 million tons, surpassing the 100 million tons exported within the same period in 2023.

The ongoing improvement in exports can be seen as a positive indicator of Ukraine’s economic resilience and recovery amid global trade fluctuations.
