Gneiss Energy invites all guests to join an insightful speech by Andy Samuel, CEO, Oil and Gas Authority, Robert Armour, Non-Executive Director, UK Oil and Gas Authority.
Synopsis
Andy Samuel and Robert Armour will summarise the considerable progress over the last 3 years through the set up and close working of the OGA with industry and the rest of government.
Andy and Robert will discuss how the OGA’s strategic approach to stewardship, systematic removal of investment barriers and focus on benchmarking and performance improvement, has helped add a further 2.8 billion barrels to the production forecast. They will also pose questions around what further behavioural and collaborative changes are required in order to achieve “Vision 2035” and the £290 billion prize on offer to the UK from MER UK, a sector deal and doubling exports from the UK-based supply chain.

Dr Andy Samuel joined the OGA as Chief Executive in January 2015. He previously held senior positions within the oil and gas industry, including 20 years with BG Group – the last two as MD, Europe Exploration and Production.
Robert Armour, UK Oil and Gas Authority
Robert Armour is a solicitor with 30 years’ experience in the energy sector, starting in private practice before becoming General Counsel at Scottish Nuclear and British Energy Group plc. He is currently Non-Executive Director of Albion Community Power plc and The Nuclear Liabilities Fund.

Members and guests are invited to convene between 17:30 and 18:00 for coffee/tea and biscuits (pay-bar available). Meeting commences at 18:00. An opportunity for informal discussion between members and guests will follow the presentation in the Cocktail Bar until commencement of the Discussion Dinner (Chatham House Rule) at about 20:00.
