UK & US Announce Energy Partnership
The UK and US will work together to increase energy security and drive down prices as part of an initiative announced by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and US President Joe Biden on December 7, 2022.
Under the new ‘UK-US Energy Security and Affordability Partnership’, the two countries will drive work to reduce global dependency on Russian energy exports, stabilise energy markets, and step-up collaboration on energy efficiency, nuclear, and renewables.
A statement added that the initiative will be steered by a new UK-US Joint Action Group, led by senior officials from the UK government and The White House .
The Prime Minister said:
“Together the UK and US will ensure the global price of energy and the security of our national supply can never again be manipulated by the whims of a failing regime.

Low Carbon Begins Construction on 3 UK Solar Farms
Low Carbon, the global renewable energy company, has announced the construction of three new large-scale solar farms in the UK.
In a statement, the company said that the farms will be located in Essex, Derbyshire and Buckinghamshire, and that they will be the first UK projects to receive funding using the business’s multi-bank financing facility from NatWest Group , Lloyds Banking Group , and AIB .?

In a statement, the London-headquartered firm said that it will firstly undertake a five-year EPS contract for 壳牌 ’s Block-10 Mabrouk Phase 2 Project, which is located in the Al Wusta Governorate of Oman – around 400 kilometres from the capital Muscat.

Van Beurden was appointed as the CEO of the oil industry titan, 壳牌 , on 1st January 2014. Prior to this, he has had a vibrant career across the energy sector - and the world.?
Van Beurden studied chemical engineering at 荷兰代尔夫特理工大学 and after completing his studies in 1983, van Beurden was desperate to travel the world and started working with Shell in Sudan. Here, Ben learned lessons in resilience and how the presence of energy lifted people out of poverty - a lifeline he became determined to spread.?
He later served as Vice President Manufacturing Excellence and later as Executive Vice President Chemicals from 2006 to 2012, while he also served on the boards of energy industry associations, including the International Council of Chemicals Associations and the Cefic . From January to September 2013, he worked as the Downstream Director. In April 2021, Ben joined the Supervisory Board of Daimler AG, but in November of that year, 壳牌 announced a change to its structure, which led van Beurden to move to the UK to keep up with the energy demands.
Under the leadership of van Beurden, 壳牌 is supplying more energy for the future with natural gas investments across the North Sea and continues to reduce its carbon emissions while making significant investments in low-carbon energy.
At home in the Netherlands, 壳牌 is building the biggest green hydrogen plant in Europe and it is expanding its electric vehicle charging network.
