Do you know how to manage UK immigration effectively? We have a couple of virtual immigration modular training courses in our current programme which will help you achieve this.

Crack down on compliance

As the Labour government approaches its fifth month in power, it has become increasingly clear that the Home Office has intensified its efforts to ensure businesses holding sponsor license adhere strictly to compliance duties.

One key change Labour has implemented in UK immigration policy is to enforce greater compliance and accountability on sponsors to uphold immigration laws and prevent abuse of the point-based system. This is evident from the significant increase in sponsor license revocation and suspensions in Q2 2024, with a 137% rise in revocations for skilled worker sponsor licenses and a 70% increase in suspensions.

Ensuring compliance with sponsor duties is therefore crucial to maintaining a sponsor license and avoiding penalties through record keeping, reporting duties, monitoring, right to work checks and cooperation with the Home Office. Being prepared for compliance visits and audits by the Home Office and full cooperation with any information or documentation request can alleviate concerns around this crackdown.

Attending our Sponsor licencing virtual training course on 29 April and 1 May 2025 will help. Experienced lawyers from our UK immigration team will conduct modules which explain how to operate a sponsor licence effectively. With use of law, policy guidance and insights from practice, they will help you get up-to-speed with the new requirements and advise about how to manage UK immigration effectively.

Right to Work checks

There have been major changes to the Right to Work (RTW) checking processes in recent years. Adjustments made by organisations to immigration compliance processes following the end of the Brexit transition period and adjusted right-to-work requirements continue to require careful consideration and review.

Our virtual live modular Right to work in 2025 training course is being held on 20 & 22 May 2025.

The first live module will assess the requirements of conducting an effective right-to-work check and the circumstances in which this may be conducted through physical documents, on-line or IDVT.

The second live module will consider how to effectively manage right-to-work issues as they arise.

Both modules will be supported by observations from our experienced lawyers as to how these issues have been managed in practice, with breakout sessions intended for practitioners to share experiences and suggestions. There will be adequate time for questions within each session.
