UK Fire Safety & Security Industry at Risk after Nearly 50 years - times are changing

In my five years of globe-trotting adventures as a kid, from the historic landscapes of Germany and Turkey to the vibrant cultures of the Middle East, including stops in Minsk, Moscow, the diverse continent of Africa, and the bustling cities of the United States, my mission was clear.

My team and I specialised in equipping offices with the latest in tech and IT solutions, we fitted out offices, constructed whole buildings from the foundations up

However, amidst the excitement of technological upgrades, one paramount necessity stood out:

ensuring a secure environment for both the staff and the high-value equipment they relied on.

This imperative brought to light the significance of a somewhat underappreciated industry in the UK - the security & safety services sector.

This recession-proof field is essential to all, yet remains unnoticed by many. It caters directly to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, providing not just security but safeguarding lives and livelihoods.

Our journey was akin to that of a nomadic tribe - arriving, building, and moving on. Initially, we leaned on local resources for our projects, which quickly proved to be a daunting challenge.

The myriad of building, safety, fire, and security standards varied immensely, even within a single country, let alone across continents like Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

Our experiences, ranging from real onsite fires in India to the mysterious disappearance of a container full of servers in Botswana, highlighted the need for a change in approach.

Through trial and error, we identified and partnered with reliable consultants and practitioners in each country.

These partnerships became our formula for success, ensuring that we never had to compromise on our standards again.

Now, as the UK's security services industry undergoes a generational shift, I find myself revisiting those roots.

I'm dedicating my efforts in this edition to spotlight the thought leaders and change-makers in this vital sector.

For anyone feeling overwhelmed by the task of securing their office, home, or personal space, fear not.

The key is to not get bogged down by paperwork but to find those who excel in their field.

When it comes to IT solutions, the mantra is simple: Align, Integrate, Constancy,

Trust and these principles pave the way to satisfied customers.

And with that, I leave you in a Mind Frame, Set & Match when looking for the best go to those that know the best and since its a small sector only about 7,000 in all
