UK Care Week - 3 Tips to Maximise Learning

Are you heading to UK Care Week ???? this week? If not, why not? It is free to attend and a great way to upskill your knowledge, hear great conversations and connect with others working within the sector.
In this weeks newsletter , I look at my top three top tips to prepare, so that you can maximise learning
1. Check the agenda and Plan
UK Care Week is an amazing opportunity for knowledge growth and development, so make sure you are prepared. You can check out the agenda here or the show guide here and you should make a list of the discussions/sessions you want to attend, the time, who is speaking and the subject.
Make sure you have a notepad and a couple of pens, so you can take some notes.
?2. Make the most out of our time
Time will go quickly so make sure you make the most out of the time you have. If you are going for both days, this will give you additional time to spread everything over the two days, but if you are only going for one day you will need to be super organised. You will have the sessions you want to visit noted down, and on the day utilise the time in between to meet old friends, socialise with your social care colleagues, meet suppliers and broaden your knowledge further. You can view some of the exhibitors here.
3. Get involved
I love that UK Care Week is personal, approachable and provides the opportunity to get involved. During the conversations make sure you ask questions, as this will enhance your learning opportunity. After sessions, hang back and speak to the chair or panellists, network with them afterwards and follow on the conversation via email or connecting on social media as this will help you to build and maintain relationships.
?
Remember, make the most of the event and take notes because trust me, you won’t remember them when you get back into the 9-5 and daily grind. Once back at work, pull out the note pad and consider how you can apply the knowledge and skills you have gained to put into your work or personal life.
