? Exciting Update: UK to List Agents on CAS by Summer 2025 ?
The latest Universities UK International newsletter reveals that the UKVI is working towards including agent details on CAS VCR evidence, aiming for greater transparency in the system.
In response to the Migration Advisory Committee's recommendation, UKVI is collaborating with the UKCISA Immigration Compliance Network to develop this capability. The system is expected to be ready by summer 2025, with actionable data available 6–12 months later to enhance sector visibility on agent-linked compliance.
While this initiative is a promising step towards transparency, it raises several practical questions: ?? How will discrepancies between agent legal names and trading names be handled? ?? For global agents with multiple brands, translations, or franchises, how will this align with the parent company? ?? Will both aggregators (university-contracted agents) and subagents (student-contracted agents) be listed on the CAS? ?? Could students face questions at border checks about who supported their application? ?? Is there a risk of bias against agent-led applications?
What are your thoughts on this development? How do you think it will impact recruitment and compliance in the UK education sector? Let's discuss!
