What do you think about UI/UX Design?

>> User Interface (UI) refers to any visual and interactive aspect of a product or service that allows users to interact with it.

>> User Experience (UX) refers to the emptions and perceptions that an individual, the user, harbors regarding their interaction with or encounter of a product.

Characteristic of Good User Experience:

1. Usable, adknowledging the distinct requirement of a wide range of individuals
2. Enjoyable, product that serve a purpose by resolving our challenges.
3. Equitable, every user has a fair and inclusive experience, regardless of other factors.
4. Useful, products or services that provide clear and relevant value and benefits to users

What is User Centered Design (UCD)?

User-Centered Design (UCD) is an approach in product, service, or system design that places the user as the primary focus during the entire design process.

Significance of UCD

1. Establishing research goals, Helps define research objectives, ensuring that solutions address actual issues faced by people.
2. Real User Problems, Prioritizing user's genuine problems is essential.
3. Mitigating Designer Bias, Focusing on authentic user problems diminish the impact of designer bias.

Types of Research

1. Who conducts the research, there are primary research and secondary research.
2. Type of data collected, qualitative research or quantitative research.

Research Method

• Interview, used to collect in-depth information on people's opinion, thougth, experiences, and feelings.
• Usability studies, to evaluate a product by testing it on users.
• Surveys, asked to many people with the same questions in order to understand what most people think about.

Bias in UI/UX research is favoring or having prejudice against something based on limited information. And how to prevent it?

• Choose your words carefully
• Foster independent thinking
• Avoid specific language
• Limit the guidance you give users
• Consider user's tone and body language
• Be careful of your own body language and reactions
• Plan your research effectively
• Remain open minded

START THE UX DESIGN PROCESS

EMPATHY, discover the amazing power of empathy. When we bring empathy to UX research, we become problem-solving wizards! Ways to empathize to users are ask away, observe and learn, listen up, feedback fun, open heart and mind, and stay updated!

One way that we can visualize empathy is by creating an empathy map that is an easily-understood chart that explains everything designers have learned about a type of user. Make your SAYS | THINKS | FEELS | DOES map.

User personas? They're like mini representatives of a whole community to help us spot interesting patterns in user behavior and find those pesky pain point they share. What is the perks of having user personas? It can build empathy, tell stories, and stress-test design.

What's user stories? A fun little tale told by the fictional buddy, the Persona! They share their dreams, hurdles, and ultimate goals, guiding our design decisions like a compass. The structure of user stories such as Who, What, and Why.

Edge Case is a rare situation or unexpected problem that interrupts a standard user experience. Spotting & resolving edge case: create personas and user stories, thoroughly review the project before launch, and use wireframe.

From the process of the design process, the journey of user are like Awareness >> Consideration >> Purchase >> Service >> Loyalty Expansion.

HOW TO BUILD PROBLEM STATEMENTS? We can utilize the 5 W's Framework!

• Who is experiencing the problem?
• What are the pain points you are trying to solve?
• Where is the user when they're using the product?
• When does the problem occur?
• Why is the problem important?
• How are users researching their goals by using the product?

IDEATION, is a simply the process of generating a wide range of ideas on a specific topic without judging or evaluating them.
