Know the UX secrets of marketing - UI Tips: episode 2
Having a tough time getting more conversions on your site? Hitting traffic but no results? Then here is just what you need.
As a User Experience (UX) Designer, one of my top challenges is the conversion rate. The number of visitors turning into customers is the determinant factor for business as well as customer experience satisfaction. You have everything your customers need and might as well offer the best price for your product. If that still doesn’t seem to work out, here’s what you have been doing wrong.
One of the best ways to achieve higher conversion rates is interaction. Interacting with a friendly gesture such as providing a gift, a limited offer or an extra coupon can help you out. Here is a simple illustration -
Now, try placing a friendly gesture and try mixing things up a little. (Don't worry you can still annoy them with updates if you have to)
Now the next big question, are you socializing with your visitors? Do you keep them updated with the latest news at your company or just put up a blank screen asking them to by from you?
Because another way to achieve higher conversion rates is blogging. Yes! You heard me right. You are not gaining any trust by placing yourself behind a screen. Go ahead and socialize! Let your visitors in on your progress. You can blog about technical tips, personal experiences or give social proofs. You cannot afford to be socially aloof when you have to compete for your sales.
Success Story
My client Glenn Zhang got a 150% increase in sales from his website by blogging business experiences and sharing social proofs. It took me less than 2 months to get him a third rank on Google for his product line in Singapore.
Make yourself socially accessible and as obvious as it sounds, being nice to someone by offering a small token of appreciation can come back in your favor down the road.
So go ahead, socialize and start blogging! Hit me a like on Facebook and don’t forget to share.
