UGVCL Launches 2.475 MW Solar PV Plant Under PM KUSUM Scheme; Kerala’s 300,000 Smart Meter Initiative Transforming Energy Efficiency and More...

UGVCL - Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited achieved a significant milestone with the commissioning of a 2.475 MW Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Plant in Sudasana, Gujarat. This development is a crucial step in the implementation of the PM KUSUM Component-C Feeder Level Solarization Scheme, which aims to provide reliable daytime electricity to the agricultural sector.


The implementation of 300,000 smart meters in Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL) is a significant step towards enhancing the efficiency of electricity distribution in the state. This initiative aligns with national and regulatory policies aimed at improving energy management and reducing losses. KSEBL has prepared a detailed plan, ensuring the phased implementation of smart meters under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). These meters are designed to provide accurate energy consumption data, enable demand-side management, and support advanced functionalities like time-of-day tariffs and remote billing.


Union Minister Shri Manohar Lal reviewed the functioning of the power and housing departments during his three-day visit to Leh, Union Territory of Ladakh. During the meetings, officials briefed him on the departments’ achievements and challenges, particularly those arising from the region’s tough terrain. Shri Manohar Lal expressed satisfaction with their work and assured full support to address any shortcomings or difficulties.


Insolation Green Energy Private Limited, a subsidiary of Insolation Energy (INA) , one of India’s leading solar panel manufacturers, has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan. The Rs 10,000 crore investment commitment was made during the Rising Rajasthan Global Pre-Investment Energy Summit 2024.


Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued a revised Expression of Interest (EoI) for the empanelment of vendors under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The initiative, launched on February 13, 2024, aims to solarize one crore households in Jammu and Kashmir, providing up to 300 units of free electricity per month. The EoI, released on November 2, 2024, invites applications for site surveys, design, supply, installation, and commissioning of grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, with a five-year Comprehensive Maintenance Contract (CMC).
