Ugly Grace

When I was pulled over and let go without a ticket, that was an act of mercy. But let me share what grace truly means. Grace would be getting pulled over when I clearly deserve a ticket, and instead of issuing one, the police officer reaches into his wallet, pays the fine for me, and then goes beyond that—handing me everything else he has. That’s grace in its purest form. It’s even more profound because it’s not just about being good or well-behaved; it's a gift given when we deserve the opposite. Now, I'd like to introduce you to the concept of Ugly Grace. Ugly represents the hard work that makes grace truly beautiful. Imagine the police officer not only paying my fine but also showing up in court, serving my sentence, and even sacrificing his own life for my betterment. That’s undeniably ugly—it's inconvenient, challenging, and, in many ways, seemingly impossible in today’s world. Yet, if he were to do all that, it would embody what I call Ugly Grace.

Below, you can make a meaningful impact on people's lives through housing. We aim to foster an environment of Ugly Grace within our homes, allowing individuals to experience and witness the transformation that comes from this grace. Your support can make a difference for those transitioning out of prison, treatment programs, and other situations where they find themselves without a place to go. Together, we can help create a welcoming space that offers hope and stability for those in need.
