UGC invites applications from Eligible HEIs for Recognition to offer Programme in ODL and Online Mode for AY 2023-24
In a nutshell, let's break down the key points:
1.??? Academic Session: HEIs seeking recognition to offere online programs from February 2024 onwards.
2.??? Regulations: UGC (Online and Distance Learning Programmes and Online Programmes) Regulations, 2020.
3.??? Registration Link: The Online application for HEIs opens on 10th Oct, 2023 and close on 31st October, 2023. Portal Link: https://deb.ugc.ac.in/
4.??? Submission of Hard Copy: Along with the online application, HEIs must submit a duly filled hard copy of the Application (With Original Affidavit and Annexure) to the ?“Deputy Secretary, Distance Education Bureau, UGC, 35, Feroze Shah Road, New Delhi-110001”.
*The Last Date for the Hard Copy Submission is 15th November, 2023”
5.??? HEIs willing to Offer Additional Programmes: HEIs already recognized for offering ODL and Online Programs in AY 2023-24 can apply for recognition of additional programmes if needed.
6.??? Application Window For Other HEIs:
?The Application Window is open throughout the year for:

(i) HEIs entitled to offer Online Programmes without prior approval as per Regulation 3(B)(a) of UGC Regulations and its amendments.
(ii) Category-1 HEIs notified by UGC as per UGC (Categorization of Universities (only) for Grant of Graded Autonomy) Regulations, 2018 and its amendments for offering programmes under ODL Mode.
7. Eligibility conditions:
(i) Any HEI may apply for offering through the ODL, fulfilling the following additions as per Regulation 3(A):
(i) HEIs offering programs under ONLINE MODE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL as per Regulation 3(B)(a):
N.B.: In Sept. 2022, UGC amended the norms for Online & Open Learning Programmes by allowing Autonomous Colleges to offer online and distance programmes for AY 2022-23 without any Prior Approval.
