UG Operations Superintendent, Africa - 5/4 FIFO

We are currently searching for a UG Operations Superintendent to join our client, a leading gold producer dominant across the African mining industry. The company is seeking an experienced and qualified leader who can assist the business with the ongoing development and ramp-up of its underground operational assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the underground mine, ensuring that production and development targets are met safely and efficiently. The position is offered on a 5/4 FIFO roster.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and lead the underground mining team to ensure safe and efficient operations;
• Develop and implement mining plans to achieve set targets;
• Ensure compliance with all relevant mining regulations, health and safety guidelines and environmental standards;
• Monitor and control costs to ensure that the mine operates within budget;
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimise processes and increase efficiencies;
• Coordinate with other departments, including geology, engineering and contractor groups, to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements:

• At least 12 years of experience in underground mining, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role;
• Prior experience working as an expat outside of home country origin;
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team of professionals;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• In-depth knowledge of underground mining methods and equipment;
• Strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
