The UEFA European Football Games

This is the second time that Germany hosts a major finals tournament in soccer, after previously hosting the 2006 World Cup, when before German reunification, West Germany hosted the 1974 World Cup and Euro 1988. The decision to choose Germany as the host of Euro 2024 was made on September 27, 2018 at the UEFA Congress held in Nyon, Switzerland.

Over the years, the German soccer team has proven itself to be an excellent team that invests a lot of resources in the training of its players. Throughout the history, Germany won the UEFA European Championship tournament three times (West Germany won twice in 1972 and in 1980 and then in 1996 as a united Germany). In addition, Germany won the FIFA World Cup tournament four times (in 1954, 1974, 1990, 2014).?

Another reason that the German team has been considered a high-quality and particularly good soccer team is because the Germans take their training very seriously and consider soccer as a national sport.

When I was younger, I liked watching and playing soccer, in fact it was one of my favorite sports (I deliberately write a soccer and not football because many might think that I am referring to American football, which is of course a completely different game). Over the years I became less interested in soccer and more in athletics competitions (that's why I personally think the Olympic games are more interesting than any football /soccer tournament).?

In my opinion, Athletics is a pure sport with much less economic or commercial interests, therefore the athletes who participate in athletics competitions in general and the Olympic Games in particular are considered athletes at the highest levels. On July 26th 2024 the Summer Olympic Games will start again and this time in Paris, France.

In the current UEFA European soccer tournament, so far Germany has maintained excellent statistics and won both matches. The first versus Scotland and the second versus Hungary. Germany's next match will be versus Switzerland.

Of course, Germany is my favorite country to win this 2024 tournament and has a very good chance. Can Germany win this tournament again after 28 years? I believe so, after all it has a home crowd advantage due to the fact that Germany hosts this UEFA European soccer tournament.

Nowadays, everywhere in the streets of Germany you can find television screens broadcasting the Euro 2024 games. Beers are thrown everywhere and the German crowd cheers and roars with enthusiasm for the German national soccer team.

Over the years, the German national team has set very high standards for the other national teams and also for those players who were interested in joining the German national team. These standards of course apply to the selection of the coach of the German national team who should lead the team to victory at the end.

As someone who is no longer interested in football /soccer games, it might be nice to watch one or two games but no more. The football /soccer games can be addictive and consume a lot of precious time, but I prefer to do other things. Are you watching the UEFA European soccer tournament?
