Udonis Haslem is the Real "Code Breaker"

UDONIS HASLEM IS THE REAL "CODE BREAKER"

After the Golden State Warriors eliminated the Dallas Mavericks (4-1) their outspoken defensive catalyst, Draymond Green, stated "We will probably be playing the Boston Celtics in the playoffs". The Celtics had beaten the Miami Heat two times in a row, including twice on their home court. In addition, Jimmy Butler, who had bern amazing in the playoffs, had an injured knee, and he had been averaging only 9 points in the prior 3 series games. Draymond Green was not in violation at all. Everyone was thinking it, he just said it out loud. In fact, despite losing game 6, the Boston Celtics are still favored to win game 7 even though it is on Miami's home court.

Udonis Haslem, the Miami Heat 41 year old 12th man, heard about Draymond Green's comment and he told the press that "Draymond broke the code". This is complete and total nonsense. Basketball players in general, and NBA players in particular are notorious for "trash talking". In addition, this is America and a little thing called "freedom of speech" trumps Haslem's petty complaints. Draymond obviously hurt Udonis' feelings. SO WHAT? What has Udonis done to change this narrative? If anyone "broke the code" it was Udonis Haslem. Let me explain.

Udonis Haslem has been holding back the NBA dreams of TWO young players for the past seven seasons, and that is wrong as hell. Haslem has not even averaged double figure minutes since 2015. Furthermore, he has only been in 95 games in 7 seasons. That is 479 DNPs (Did Not Play) by coaches decision. At this point in his career Udonis is nothing more than an overpaid cheerleader.?

Udonis Haslem's $2.575M should be going to TWO young players since the NBA minimum salary is $1M. The HEAT could have two serviceable back up centers as opposed to an undersized 41 year old version that never plays. They could definitely use a backup center - FACTS.

Some Miami Heat fans will say that Udonis Haslem is a leader in the locker room. This is more nonsense as well. Haslem started a heated argument with Jimmy Butler during a game this season, so that theory holds no water. Furthermore, the Heat already have a locker room leader. Jimmy Butler backs his words with actions, and his teammates follow his lead. In reality, UdonisHaslem is nothing more than unnecessary dead weight on the Heat bench.

If the Heat really value Haslem's innate contributions, then they can make him a player development or assistant coach. They can also do this for much less money. Currently Udonis Haslem is being paid slightly less than the head coach Erik Spoelstra ($3M), but he contributes next to nothing. Every year that Udonis Haslem is on Miami's active roster he hurts the Heat team. He is being selfish, and his presence is of no justifiable use. Make no mistake, Udonis Haslem is the real "code breaker", not Draymond Green.??
