?? “Picture abhi baaki hai, mere dost!”
This Bollywood dialogue perfectly encapsulates the incredible journey of a young girl whose life has been a whirlwind of challenges, learning, and self-discovery.
Born into a family with modest means but towering dreams, she always believed education was her path to a brighter future. Her father, her silent hero, often said, “Padhegi toh aage badhegi,” inspiring her to chase knowledge with determination. But life, as it often does, threw her a curveball—at a tender age, she was sent to a hostel, far away from the comfort and familiarity of home.
Alone and apprehensive, she had to master the basics—doing laundry, managing her own money (still is a journey), and even cooking her own meals. It wasn’t easy, but independence was no longer a choice; it was her survival kit. Amid these trials, she found her sanctuary: music. Classical melodies and devotional songs became her solace, bringing her peace and helping her feel connected to her father and the divine.
?? “Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga!”
Her school years were a mix of triumphs and trials. She was good in academics, often standing among the best, but her victories were hers alone to celebrate. Though her family offered occasional support, most of her battles—against anxiety, under confidence, and the fear of the unknown—were fought solo.
She found comfort in books, treasures like Tuesdays with Morrie, Kane and Abel, and The Class, which taught her resilience, the value of relationships, and the importance of purpose.
Movies, too, became her mentors. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button taught her to savor life’s fleeting moments, while Gifted Hands inspired her to see challenges as opportunities to grow. With grit, grace, and a relentless determination, she carved her way to a Master’s degree at TISS, a dream she had nurtured since her hostel days.
?? “Zindagi jeene ke do hi tareeke hote hain… ek jo ho raha hai hone do, bardasht karte raho; aur doosra, zimmedari uthao usse badalne ki.”
Her journey hasn’t been easy. Work, like life, has its own set of hurdles. She’s faced many challenges and knows there are many more to come. Yet, it is these very challenges that make life exciting, albeit a little scary. They test her resilience, shape her spirit, and keep her grounded.
Today, as she reflects on her path, she feels lost at times, navigating her way through life’s complexities. But she is also filled with hope—hope that through education, she can not only continue her journey but also empower others to embark on theirs. She dreams of inspiring young minds to see the transformative power of knowledge, just as she did.
Because for her, life isn’t just about finding herself—it’s about helping others find their purpose too. And that’s a Bollywood-worthy climax waiting to unfold.
