UCA PARTNERS WITH RIO TINTO
Unconventional CA
Creating sustainable positive impact in the livelihoods of early stage and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Unconventional CA (UCA) has partnered with Rio Tinto Richards Bay Minerals (RBM) to implement an Entrepreneurship development Coaching and Training Programme that will support suppliers in their Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) Programme.
The programme aims to improve the beneficiary’s personal and business mastery skills which will be invaluable for running effective operations and creating business sustainability.
The development programme is now underway and will focus on entrepreneurial excellence using UCA’s Circle of Life Methodology and Circle of Life Coaching Technology to make sure all the impactful development work that is done for our beneficiaries, is captured.
Through this intervention, RBM hopes to achieve several objectives, including developing sustainable SMMEs that can provide a reliable product and service on their supply chain.
At UCA, we embrace a transformative approach to supporting SMMEs.
Our venture-building perspective and holistic coaching methods have earned astute credibility for supporting entrepreneurs in shifting from informal trading practices to building honourable business assets.
Ethical social impact for our clients and their chosen beneficiaries is designed to maximise company value through our customisable ESD solutions.
By working with UCA, entrepreneurs get to understand their WHY, both in business and in their personal life, which ultimately helps turn their visions into measurable outcomes and goals. UCA helps SMMEs scale their businesses by providing them with the necessary expert support and resources, including business coaching, fundraising, product development and marketing, bringing a neuroscience approach to unlocking the true potential of entrepreneurs.

All entrepreneurs will be tracked in their development and growth using UCA’s Circle of Life methodology and tool. This will be achieved by establishing specific growth areas and sharing insights into practices, together with coaching the entrepreneur on specific and measurable development goals.
This partnership represents the first of its kind for UCA in the mining and energy sector and we hope to support many more beneficiaries in this sector as we look to create impact and use learnings from the programme to enhance our technology and take it to the next level.
We are aiming to build on this programme and have started linking the impact we create to specific ESG principles as this aligns with our longer-term strategy of linking corporate ESG objectives to ESD and SMME development.
