Ubuntu 15.10 Desktop Readiness Check
So here I sit, I just updated my new Ubuntu 15.10 Desktop running on a new system and rebooted. Rebooted to a broken GRUB boot loader. Then I read up on how to address the issue online, and it recommended “Boot-Repair” off the LiveCD. I did that. Now I have a system that seems to be fully updated yet completely non-functional.
I haven’t touched my Windows system at all, so that’s still running in the background, and my MacBook has been running merrily this whole time. So, this may have just been a few days of wasted effort.
I originally was going to be singing the praises of Ubuntu 15.10 Desktop, but sadly, no. Much like all the other times I’ve tried to use any Linux as my primary operating system, I run into problems. Things that would have utterly paralyzed the “average computer user” even before they got to see what the OS could do.
So, for me at least, Linux is still not meant for users. This OS is meant for servers. That’s really sad too because I was full of hope that this time, version 15.10, may have gotten somewhere.
Nope.
