Why has the world embraced Uber so much? There are a bunch of reasons, but my favorite is its simplicity. I need a ride, I click a button, I choose where I want to go and what type of vehicle, and boom! I know how much it is going to cost me and when I am going to be picked up! No fuss!
Wouldn’t it be great it we could apply the same simplicity to labor within organizations? Many are trying with varying degrees of success and that trend will continue. Even before Covid landed on our doorsteps, 85% of executives expected to increase the number of freelance workers they use. Now, more than ever, on-demand workers are giving organizations the ability to do more with less. In other words, become more agile as the need arises without adding headcount.
