Uber has lost its licence to operate in London. Government body Transport for London claimed the ride-hailing company is not "fit and proper" to hold a licence after it found 14,000 trips were taken by unauthorised drivers. It’s the latest setback in Europe for Uber, which has already been banned or discontinued in several countries, including Denmark, Hungary and Bulgaria. The company has 21 days to appeal against the decision. ? Here’s what people are saying.

Europe’s job market is thriving and unemployment is at its lowest level in decades — so why, asks the Wall Street Journal, are workers still unhappy? The reason is the shift in the nature of jobs, with the number of part-time and temporary positions on the rise. Last year, 14.2% of European jobs were temporary; in the US it was 4%. That means more people are employed, but without job security or pensions. In 2018, 9.2% of Eurozone workers were at risk of poverty, up from 7.9% in 2007. ? Here’s what people are saying.

That's according to researchers from Bath University, who found men are least stressed when their wives earn a salary that's less than 40% of the household income. Dr Joanna Syrda, an economist at the university, said the results show how "strong and persistent" gender identity norms are. ? Here’s what people are saying.
