A teaching job with Kids English Thailand provides a housing allowance + assistance in securing accommodation.
Utilities are always a personal responsibility; however, they are very inexpensive! Electric and water bills will vary depending on individual usage, but the average price is between 1,000-2,000 baht per month.
Most accommodation is within 5-15 minutes, walking distance from the school. However, some schools are not within walking distance and require you to use public transportation or ride a bicycle.
Some teachers opt for renting a scooter/motorbike; however, you must ensure that you have the correct license before driving on the roads in Thailand.
Accommodation varies depending on the region, city and town; however, KET always ensures that teachers have the basics so that they are comfortable.
Here's what to expect:
- At least 30+ Square Metres in size
- Always with an en-suite bathroom that has a western-style toilet and 99% of the time a warm water shower.
- Sometimes a small balcony.
- Furniture- a queen/double/king bed, small table/desk, wardrobe etc.
- Nearly always a fridge.
- Sometimes there is a TV.
- Always an air-conditioning unit.
- Always WiFi.

2 年Robert Young The cost of accommodation in Thailand is amazing compared to what I'm hearing from people back home in the UK, and from people coming from the USA. Some KET teachers pay less than 10% of their salary on rent, unheard of elsewhere, and its the same for utilities, very affordable another great reason, amongst many to be living and working in Thailand. ??
