Types of Mother Wound & Your Fatal Attraction To Narcissists

Those of you who suffer from mother wounds are magnets to toxicity and narcissists.

If you're a toxicity magnet, you had a mother who exhibited one or more of the following:

1. The mean & narcissistic mother

2. The apathetic mother - one who doesn't seem to care about what happens to her child

3. The absent mother - either she passed away, has physically left, or was physically there but was on autopilot and emotionally "checked out"

4. The nice mother - she didn't protect, educate, instill accountability, discipline, or teach life skills

You had a mother but you didn't. That's why you're attracted to those who aren't capable of reciprocity, comfort, and nurture.

Symptoms:

• You don't understand people
• When things go wrong you don't know why
• You're performative in relationships to be someone that you think others want
• Social anxiety, you often need to smoke or drink to ease the nerves in situations concerning people
• When things go right, you think it was luck, and not your intelligence and efforts
• You lack social elegance, but you wouldn't know it, because nobody will tell you
• You have low standards and low self-esteem.

Nurture and care are basic survival needs. You have a scarcity mindset from experiencing constant lack.

In an attempt to meet these unmet needs, you become motherly to others. For many of you, this is one of the only ways how you got any approval in childhood: being overly responsible and being called "mature for your age."

Your mothering "personality" is a trauma coping mechanism. You find yourself parenting lovers, friends, colleagues, and subordinates inappropriately - but you won't know it's inappropriate, because this is all you've known, and it takes an unusual level of kindness for someone to tell you the truth.

A combination of these symptoms makes you a narcissist magnet, but also in many cases, the exact formula is the perfect breeding ground for creating a narcissist.?
